The 24 Hour Rave Experiment – Birmingham

The 24 Hour Rave Experiment – Birmingham

The UK’s first ever (legal) 24 Hour Rave Experiment takes place at the award-winning Rainbow Venues in Birmingham this September on Saturday the 20th, falling in nicely with Fresher’s week.

We’ve all been there. Standing at the end of a rave, 6am with shoes battered, vocal chords obliterated and mind completely warped. What do we want? One more tune. What we’d give for just five more minutes of avoiding that early morning walk to the station, loitering around in the entrance like lost dogs. Sunglasses on – nobody needs to see those bleary eyes, exhausted arms clutching a bottle of water like it’s your only friend (at least the bottle won’t judge you when you stumble in as your housemates are up making breakfast and getting ready for the gym).

Rainbow Venues are offering you the opportunity to not only avoid that trip home for six more hours, but they’re also offering you the chance to win your money back. Think you’ve got what it takes? Put your money where your mouth is and support Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a £24 deposit on the challenge of a lifetime. The rules are simple: still standing when the lights come on and you get to go home at the very respectable time of 12pm (just in time for that judgmental mate to get back from the gym and cook you a sympathetic roast). Give up? Go home. Fall asleep and you will be politely ejected from the building. Your £24 will be delivered to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, a cause almost worth falling asleep for.

Not for the faint-hearted, the 24 Hour Rave Experiment will be set across ten different spaces – including a beach, astro-turfed courtyards, an entertainment arena, a chill out tent, a fairground, silent disco, VIP area and as standard in Digbeth there will also be a playground of old and raw warehouse spaces to run around. The fear at any event come 4am is that the music will gradually die out and energy levels will flop like a can of sugar-free Redbull. Fear not, ravers – the Rainbow has it covered. With ten courses of underground bass music to keep you going, this should be a doddle, right?

Join TNG as we take on the 24 Rave Experiment by the horns. We’d like to think it’ll look something like this:

Tickets are available from skiddle.
