8. TRILL TEGA

Tega Erhimu AKA \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Trill Tega\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” , is a rap artist born in Ireland and based in Calgary Alberta and Lagos, Nigeria. Born on March 23, 2001, he later took a great interest in creating rap music \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”trap\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”. He moved to Calgary in the early 2014\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s, where he quickly became well known member in the community. Not long into the start of his music career, Tega had conflict with his school \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Strathcona Tweedsmiur School\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”, were he was Suspended for his choice of music making. At this time he had dropped his first mixtape \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Frost season\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”. The school had made him delete the entire mixtape of Soundcloud which would spark alot of controversy around and outside of school. He had alot of people to back him and would later release the mixtape again under another account weeks later. He had started releasing music once again in his second year of being in Canada which lead to more tracks being made later on. His Single \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”PLUG FOR THE WEEK\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” was made in the summer of 2017 in Huston Texas. This would be the track that spear headed his music career much further and later released and album tittled \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Trillogy\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”. A music video for Plug for the week appeared on youtube as of August 27th 2017 which currently has racked up thousands of views. In 2017, Tega moved to Cambridge in England where he currently studies. Since then he has released another album titled \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”TRILL\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” which stands for \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Too Real In Living Life\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” on multiple platforms such as Apple music, Spotify and tidal, consisting of 11 tracks and two singles\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Bandz Bandz\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” and \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Telenovela\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”. His music has continued to see more growth as he meets up with higher people in the industry and improve on his tracks working with more producers.

Tega has been offered to work with a huge record label SONY AFRICA which manage most of Nigeria top Celebrities such as Dbanj and WIZKID, but has not fully solidified his deal due to the fact that he is still a minor and must wait till he is an adult to make the decision. Indongesit david Sammy , professionally known as “young puma” is a Nigerian upcoming rapper and songwriter

Born in Lagos city Nigeria, July 23rd, 2000, to an American based father and Nigeria mom

According to him , he started having an interest in music at age four, when he started listening to Michael Jackson and started drawing music based comic in his high school, he was pushed by friends to take the music seriously , young puma then started his music career at mid 2017 , where he dropped his first track “king scar” using the audacity studio app , but duel to bad vocals and production ,he was forced to delete the song , it took the rapper 6 months ,before he got back on track into his music journey , Jan 20th 2018, young puma dropped his second song with a afro fusion artist “was how 4000′ tittle “mood”

The song “mood” was also taking down duel to bad production, it wasn’t for long , before he drop the hot and still massive played song on SoundCloud tittle “bands” which was all a freestyle, as young puma claim, well as for 2019, young puma drops another massive hit tittle “ice” ft purplegod and highroller

Oladapo is a Nigerian- fusion artist, number sixteen (16) out of Mr eazi’s top 100 African Empawaa contestants. He’s mad talented tbh.

He was born and raised in Lagos from a family of four and he’s an engineering student at the University of Lagos….

His musical style which he describes as Afro-fusion is a mixture of highlife sounds with distinctive contemporary elements embellished gracefully with his local influences which comprises of his mother tongue Yoruba and the Nigerian Pidgin

With A living legend like Lagbaja as a mentor; since his foray into the Nigerian music industry, Oladapo has since dropped a total of six songs with this sizzling vibe titled “Gbe bodi” it is set to officially be released on the 15th of February 2019. Enjoy

Akumefule Chukwu-Emeka, popularly known as BlaqBonez is a Nigerian rapper born on the 29th of January. He studied computer engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. His mother is a pastor. He came into limelight in February 2012 after winning Terry tha Rapman’s zombie competition. Five months after winning the competition, he released his first single titled ‘stronger’ off his ‘Hip Hop in Blaq Mixtape’.

Blaqbonez won the Tosinadeda’s Radio Palmwine’s, in 2015 alone, emerged 1st runner-up in Vector’s king kong competition, won the Rhythmfm Freestyle Fury and became RhythmFm’s artiste of the month, became the Hennessy Vs class captain, part of the Soundcity blast cypher.

The artiste has alter egos named Rasaki and President Emeka, which he uses to rap in English and Yoruba. He also made the list of 5 rappers on the hip-hop radar in 2016 by Talkglitz and also Ten rappers to watch out for in Africa by opinion polls.

He released his latest album “Boy Boy Blaq” and he said in an interview with Pulse that “the love for the album has been organic.” Tracks like “Consent”, “Mamiwota” and “Accommodate” have fast become fan favourites as they connected deeply with the message in the songs especially Consent which was inspired by a need for men to have a better more profound respect for women, not just online but in real life.
